We are proud to announce that Wolfgang, our Neon Racer game developer, is now part of the Need for Speed AI team at EA Games in Vancouver, Canada. We wish him all the best and lots of success in his new exciting job!

As our studies are over this is maybe the last chance to see Neon Racer live: Neon Racer will be demonstrated on the 16th of October at the Mediengala in Pregarten, Upper Austria. There will also be other exciting projects. Check the Mediengala website for further details.
UPDATE: I'm confused. Of course it is Thursday the 16th of NOVEMBER!

A modification of Neon Racer will be presented at Eurographics 06 in Vienna. This version of Neon Racer includes Prof. Inami's robots for moving real obstacles on the table. Wolfgang was responsible to include the robots in the current system. Tomita Masahiro was developing the robot system. Ary Setijadi Prihatmanto developed some necessary projector calibration for the robot system.
The Eurographics conference will take place at Vienna from the 4th to the 8th of September 2006.

Neon Racer was demonstrated at the World Sailing Games in Neusiedl, Austria. Our university did quite a lot of projects for this event and also showed those and others like Neon Racer there. Due to this event a second Neon Racer Table was constructed.

Prof. Masahiko Inami vistited our university with one of his students. He works at the University of Electro-Communications, Toky, Japan. He came to show us his robots and we decided to integrate them into Neon Racer. It seems that the project is going on and we will create a game enhanced with Prof. Inamis robots.

Last night we received the Top Talent Award in the category games at the TTA Gala in Vienna. We are very proud and honoured to get this price. There will be interviews from us on FM4, Ö1, BBC News Radio and SAT1 Austria.

From 2nd to 5th March the Top Talent Award Festival takes place in Vienna. On the 4th the best projects will be decorated (hopefully also Neon Racer). Already before the gala we will present our game in a session on 3rd of March (15:30 to 18:00).

Vom 2. bis 5. März findet in Wien das Festival zum Top Talent Award statt (http://www.toptalent.europrix.org/tta05/program.htm). Am 4. März findet ab 19:30 die Gala statt, wo die Projekte ausgezeichnet werden (und hoffentlich auch der Neon Racer). Schon am 3. März gibt es von 15:30 - 18:00 die Präsentationen der Projekte, wo wir natürlich auch den Neon Racer vorstellen.

The Pixelspaces exhibition at the Ars Electronica Festival 2005 takes place from september 1st to 6th. Opening is on August 31th at 6 pm.

From the third to sixth of september 2005 our project will be exhibited at the "Pixelspaces" of the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz!

Our first prototype "NeonRacer" is finished. It includes three vehicles which are controlled by keyboard. Shooting and collecting extra is also possible. Sound was integrated for one vehicle, for shooting and catching extras. Object detection works at the beginning of the game. So our vehicles already collide with real obstacles on the table. But there is still lots to do!
And playing the game makes a lot of fun!!
